Sweet GRETA is an absolute gem of a small dog. She's a 6-7 year old 14 pound chiweenie (chihuahua/dachshund) type mixed breed girl. Greta is the perfect little companion. She's an affectionate pup who loves to be with her people. She's indifferent to other dogs and cats. Greta loves mealtimes and finding the perfect sunny spot for naps. Greta is housebroken, crate trained and walks well on a leash. She's not vocal and would be fine in an apartment and condo. She's a perfect little dog for an empty nester looking for a bestie. Greta landed in a rural shelter after someone witnessed her being tossed from a van, Fortunately they scooped her up and got her to a shelter. Unfortunately the shelter was overcrowded and was facing some difficult decisions due to an incoming hoarding case so we agreed to take Greta in and find her the loving home she deserves. She's such a perfect little dog we cannot understand how anyone could dump her so cruelly. Our best guess is that she was once someone's well loved dog and something must have happened to her person and Greta ended up with some heartless person. That's all behind her now! If you'd like to meet Greta, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Greta at our weekly adoption event, Saturday 11:30am-1:30pm at PetSmart Eastgate. Our fully vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.
