Foster or forever home wanted, meet handsome Dover! Dover is another example of what rescue is all about. Humans have failed this boy more than once and he's barely a year old. Dover found himself in the Lancaster shelter the first time on June 5th of this year. He was brought in as a stray, no microchip, collar or tag. He sat in the shelter for a little over a month, just long enough to get sick. He recovered and was adopted in July. Fast forward to September 15, and Dover's wonderful family returned him to the shelter for being "destructive". Even the best dogs overstay their welcome in the current state of the shelters these days. When Dover came out on the euthanasia list, we inquired about him. Dover got nothing but glowing reviews on both intake exams when he entered the shelter. They cited him as being sweet and friendly. We gained access to his behavior assessment notes and again, Dover passed with flying colors, friendly with the staff and all the dogs in play group. Dover's story is unfortunately one we see and hear far too often. But that was yesterday's story and his new chapter starts now! If you are interested in meeting Dover, please head over to labradorsandfriends.org and fill out an application. Dover is located in Southern California.
