Meet Oakley — a tiny ray of sunshine with a playful spirit and a heart full of love just waiting to bloom! At 11 pounds, this adorable little girl is happiest when she's close to her people, whether that means curled up in your lap, snoozing nearby, or following you from room to room like your own fuzzy shadow. Oakley has discovered that life is pretty wonderful these days! She loves soft little toys, tasty snacks, and racing around the yard with her foster dog friends during her joyful zoomie sessions. One of her favorite hobbies is what her foster family lovingly calls "gardening" — proudly rearranging sticks and leaves around the yard to her liking. As a puppy mill survivor, Oakley is still learning that the world can be a safe and happy place. Having a confident companion dog in her forever home will be very important to help continue building her confidence and show her the ropes of being a beloved family member. She truly enjoys the companionship of other dogs and blossoms when she has canine friends nearby. Oakley would thrive in a calm, quieter home where she can continue settling into family life at her own pace. Loud noises, thunderstorms, and fireworks can still be scary for her, so her future family should be prepared to help her feel safe and secure during those stressful moments. She's also making wonderful progress with her house manners! Oakley is learning that potty time belongs outside and will use a pee pad if needed while continuing her routine. She's currently transitioning successfully from a special diet following treatment for a urinary tract infection and is doing very well. Oakley's perfect forever home will be filled with patience, love, companionship, and plenty of cuddle time. In return, this sweet little girl will reward her family with loyalty, gentle affection, and the joy of watching her confidence grow more each day. Oakley's adoption donation is $500 and she is being fostered in the Athens, Ohio area. She is fully vetted including spay, microchip, dental cleaning, current vaccinations, negative heartworm test, and she is current on heartworm and flea prevention. Oakley is ready to find the forever family who will cherish her for the amazing little dog she is becoming.
